EDIT: I was wrong, most shops won't do brakes without doing rotors as well. Learn to do your own brakes I guess.
Suggested that the rotors had to be replaced when in reality the rust was on the margins, and the area where the brake pads meet the rotor was perfectly smooth and clear. Spent $460 on a $200 job. Dont trust their word, always question them.

The picture you've included is helpful, even without being able to physically inspect and measure the rotor for the radial run out. This determines how much rotor would need to be shaved off, and that amount would determine if the rotor is required. We do and anyone experienced can determine from your picture that the rotor was no longer serviceable due to the rust.

Fernando, the manager, was fantastic. He explained everything and when I arrived he took me into the garage and showed me the work along with pulling the broken control arm out of the trash to show me what it actually looked like before they replaced it. It feels hard to trust when a garage says I need a bunch of work, but Fernando was very trustworthy and went above and beyond to make feel confident the work was necessary.
