I drive a 1990s Volvo and was passing through Las Vegas on a road trip when my alternator belt broke. I initially had the car towed to a shop that specializes in European vehicles. Because the alternator and drive belts on my Volvo are easily accessible, I knew this was a straightforward repair that should take well under an hour. Even so, I was initially quoted nearly $700, largely due to labor charges. After questioning the estimate, it was reduced to about $500, but I ultimately decided not to proceed because of the repair timeline.
With only enough battery power to drive a few miles, I made it to another nearby shop. Their estimate included a part that wasn't actually needed, and they also couldn't complete the repair as quickly as I needed. Knowing I couldn't make it much farther on battery, I looked across the street, saw Brake Masters, and decided to check them out. Finding them turned out to be incredibly fortunate.
The team immediately understood what was needed, quickly sourced the correct belts, completed the repair in well under an hour, and charged only $240. That's exactly the kind of price I expected, with excellent turnaround. They were professional, honest, accommodating, and genuinely kind throughout the process.
If I lived in Las Vegas, Brake Masters would be my first choice for routine maintenance. For highly specialized Volvo repairs or jobs requiring hard-to-find Volvo parts, I might still seek out a dedicated European or Volvo specialist. But for honest, efficient service at a fair price, I wouldn't hesitate to return here.
I can't thank the team enough for getting me back on the road so quickly. They turned what could have been a very stressful situation into a smooth and positive experience.
